Creative idea

As children, we believed there were magical shoes that could take us anywhere we wanted to go simply by clicking our heels three times. Dorothy’s shoes from The Wizard of Oz became a universal symbol of travel, wishes, and the magical transition from one world to another. Today, we no longer need magic to travel. We only need one tap. The creative concept, “One tap, and you’re there!”, translates this familiar gesture into a modern travel experience powered by Mastercard. The poster features Dorothy’s sparkling red shoes on the yellow brick road leading toward Oz. Its retro visual style draws on the original story, recognised around the world, and creates a powerful moment of nostalgia. At the same time, the slogan connects Dorothy’s iconic heel click with today’s contactless tap: one simple action that brings us closer to the next destination, experience, or adventure. Payment is not presented as the end of a purchase, but as the beginning of something bigger. One tap can mean boarding a train, booking a room, having dinner in a new city, visiting a museum, or spontaneously deciding to continue the journey. Mastercard remains almost invisible, yet reliably removes the barriers between the traveller and the experience. The Wizard of Oz is a globally recognised story, so the idea works without additional explanation, regardless of country or language. In different executions, the yellow brick road can lead to new cities, cultures, landmarks, or spontaneous travel moments, while the red shoes and the idea of one tap remain a consistent and recognisable symbol. This allows the campaign to adapt across markets and formats without losing its simplicity, emotional impact, or clear connection to Mastercard. Once, magical shoes took us into a world of imagination. Today, Mastercard brings us closer to real-world experiences with a single tap. One tap, and you’re there!
