Creative idea

To recruit students for Atomic Garden’s new season, we turned the problem their courses solve into the campaign itself – the flood of lazy, cliché advertising around us. Under the bold platform “Shitty Ads,” we mocked familiar advertising tropes through outdoor, print, video and radio, then gave people stickers to tag bad ads both in the real and digital worlds. A podcast with industry voices opened a wider conversation about bad practices and the value of creativity. Finally, the campaign culminated in awards for the worst local ads, turning bad advertising into a reason to learn how to make better work.
