Slovakia, a neighbour of Ukraine, knows well what Russian oppression means after 40 years under Soviet occupation. Yet its government is now openly pro-Russian. So when Vladimir Putin once again refused a Christmas ceasefire, there was no official reaction from Slovak authorities. Together with the European Commission, we decided to speak up and reveal Russia’s true face. While Christmas hits played around the world, we released a different kind of “hit” — missile strikes on Ukrainian territory, using authentic frontline recordings captured by a war reporter. Released under a prominent Slovak label and amplified by influencers, the vinyl campaign also reached the Ukrainian community.
